SVC (Static VAR Compensator) Problem Solving

SVC is a kind of electrical device applied for providing fast-acting reactive power compensation on high-voltage electricity transmission networks. RXPE, China SVC manufacturer, is able to provide quality static VAR compensator, which can solve the problems in the following areas:

1. Electric Arc Furnace
Electric Arc Furnace may cause a series of adverse effects to the power grid, mainly including serious three-phase unbalance, high order harmonics, severe voltage distortion, serious voltage flicker, and low power factor.
A method of choice to solve the above problems is to install a dynamic static reactive power compensation device (SVC) with quick response speed. Static VAR compensator, with isolated phase compensation function, can eliminate the three-phase unbalance, the harmful high order harmonics, and improve power quality and power factor by providing capacitive reactive power to the system.

2. Rolling Mill
The reactive power impulse caused by rolling mill and other industrial symmetry loads will bring power grid such problems as: severe voltage level drop, voltage fluctuation, power factor reduction, harmful high order harmonics etc.

3. Power Supply of Electric Locomotive
When the transportation way of electric locomotive preserves the environment, it may seriously pollute the power grid. As the electric locomotive has single phase power supply, which may cause serious three-phase unbalance, low power factor, and negative sequence current.
However, there is a preferred way to solve the above problems, that is, to install SVC at appropriate locations along the railway. Quick isolated phase compensation function of this electrical equipment can ensure the three-phase balance, and the improved power factor is achieved through filters.

4. Hoist

5. Long-distance Power Transmission
